Vinyl makes a very practical handrail and can be used where the deck is waterproofed or not. The technique is to being up a 4×4 wooden post for the support and then sleeve it with a 4×4 vinyl. Normally no holes are put into the posts and the rails are attached with brackets. Any design used for vinyl fencing can be adapted for use as hand railing.
